Requirement: The position requires, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related, and 2 years of experience as an industrial engineer, production engineer or related. In lieu of bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in industrial engineering or related, employer will accept two (2) years of work experience.
Production engineers must be familiar with pfd (production flow diagram) and spend part of their workday using computers to plan production schedules. They might also use their planning time to develop new procedures for items already in production or to be produced in the future. Engineer must also familiarize them self with the types of equipment they might have to order and installfor new projects. Production schedule planning also involves managing work shifts for team members. Continuous process improvement: analyzing current production methods, materials, machines, manpower, and software to implement processes to reduce cycle times and eliminate non-value-added time throughout the factory. Designing, running, testing, and upgrading processes (future and current), utilizing value stream process maps, problem solving, statistical workflow analysis, spc charting, work balancing charts, and other lean manufacturing tools.
Reducing machine setup times through process and production planning activities. Decreasing machine tact times and improving performance of actual vs. Expected throughput per hour. Establishing process controls and mistake-proofing of products and processes. Providing hands-on manufacturing support and leading cross-functional process improvement teams to support production and resolve manufacturing and quality issues. Providing pre and post manufacturing reviews and finalize process issues as required. Leading and supporting lean events and waste reduction initiatives. Work with managers to develop lean training for all manufacturing leads, floor employees, and office personnel. Familiar with iso quality system and have capability to understands spc (statistical process control) data analysis. Solving problems by root cause analysis: production engineer is responsible for the procedures or protocols that are used in the manufacturing process. One of their main duties is troubleshooting all steps in this process, and seeking improvement in procedures wherever necessary.
He/she must be able to determine from where in the production line a problem originates, such as issues with machinery needing to be fixed, cleaned or redesigned, or if a worker is not adhering to the proper steps in manufacturing, such as using the equipment incorrectly or not assembling products properly by using root cause analysis approach.
